Facial hair?

what the hell is up with the "ban" on facial hair outside of a mustache in the wt?.

i see nothing about it in the bible, and i remember i did some research and nothing came up in the jw publications.. did i miss something?.

oh wait, is this another way to get people to conform without scriptural basis.... i want a goatee :(.... actually i'm thinking of growing one and then people would get the idea that i'm not doing so hot in "the truth"..

When everyone is dressed identically and have strict dress and style requirements, you're dealing with a cult. The witnesses mandate personal grooming down to how many towels is appropriate to dry your hands with after you've used the pisser. It's amazing how willingly people surrender their personalities over to an overbearing convoluted authority.

I work at a large retail store. Recently, I've made a dozen or more hook shaped grabbers from conduit in order to pull items from the back of the shelves to the front. They're handy and professionally made.

Now, why did I make a dozen you ask? They kept disappearing. I didn't mind the first half dozen, because I figured people needed them and they would stop taking them. However, they didn't stop. Nothing is more annoying than having a tool you've made for a specific purpose disappear every other time you need it. So, I decided to make two and label one of them mine. I wrote "John's shellelagh" on one, just because I like saying "shellelagh. That worked for a couple weeks, but it too disappeared.

So, time to pull out the big guns. I wrote on the last one in capital letters, "A PLAGUE UPON THE GENITALS OF THE THEIF WHO PILFERS THIS STICK!--God" It's been a month now and that stick has not disappeared. In fact, one of the others I made has been returned. I find it amusing, but am somewhat puzzled. Why did people not have a problem taking the stick before? What made them alter their behavior for this one? Are they really afraid of a curse? Did the words smart their conscience? What do you think?

am i the only one who think's a lot of the amazing stories terry come up with are fabricated or completely untrue?

every week he tells us how he by chance ran into a jw, mormon, evangilcial, etc.

and comes up with witty answers every time to counter every point they make and than have them running in fear.

while looking up whether jw nurses are allowed to administer blood transfusions i found this little gem from.

watchtower 15th november 1964 page 681 .

''the use of blood in adhesives for manufacturing plywood and other commonly used materials has now come to the attention of christians, and we use plywood as an example.. much plywood is made using blood glue, but some plywood is blood-free.. a christian purchaser or contractor may seek to obtain blood-free plywood if he can do so; however, if he decides to use all types of plywood, it must be left to his conscience.

Does anyone remember the rumors from about 20 years ago that chocolate had blood in it as an "emulsifier," and people were going around saying you shouldn't eat chocolate? You can't make this stuff up.
